Assigning Judges to Submissions

Learn how to assign submissions to judges or panels for evaluation.

Decide which evaluators review which submissions. You can assign them from the round's Evaluators tab (by rule) or its Submissions tab (by hand).

I. Assign from the Evaluators tab

  1. Open the round and click the Evaluators tab.

  2. Tick the evaluators you want to assign submissions to.

  3. Click Assign Submissions in the toolbar. For a single evaluator, you can also use their ⋮ menu. The Assign Evaluators dialog opens.

  4. Under Assign evaluators based on, choose a rule:

    • Assign based on submission tracks: submissions in the evaluator's track or tracks are assigned automatically.

    • Assign based on participant tag(s): submissions are assigned based on the tags on each participant's profile.

  5. Click Assign to evaluator/panel.

The Assigned Rules column shows each evaluator's rule.

Good to know: rules apply to submissions that arrive after you set the rule. To assign submissions you already have, use the Submissions tab steps below.

II. Assign from the Submissions tab

  1. Open the round's Submissions tab.

  2. Tick one or more submissions. Filters such as Tracks, Tags or Evaluators help you find them.

  3. Click the Assign evaluators/panels icon in the toolbar (on smaller screens, it's under ⋯ More options). The Assign Evaluators dialog opens.

  4. Choose Add Evaluators or Add Panel, then pick one or more evaluators under Select Evaluators (or choose a panel).

  5. Click Assign to evaluator/panel.

To take submissions away, use Unassign. To change the evaluators on one submission, use Edit Assign in its ⋮ Actions menu.

III. Judge as an admin (no assignment needed)

You and other program admins can also evaluate any submission without being assigned, once Enable admin judging is on in the round's Evaluation Settings.
