Screening Submissions with AI

Let AI score submissions on clarity, relevance, creativity and ethics, and pass, fail or flag them against your threshold.

Let AI do a first review of your submissions before evaluators see them. You choose the criteria, and AI Screening scores each submission and tells you whether it passes your threshold. This feature is marked Experimental.

Before you start: connect an AI provider

AI Screening runs on your organisation's own AI account, so connect it first. See Connecting Your AI Provider.

Set up screening for a round

  1. Open the program and select the round.

  2. Go to Settings → AI Screening Settings.

  3. Set the Screening Threshold: the minimum overall score (%) a submission needs to pass.

  4. Choose a Decision Fallback, for example Needs Review. This is used when the AI can't decide.

  5. Turn on the criteria you want and set a passing score for each:

    • Clarity

    • Relevance to your program

    • Creativity

    • Ethics

    • Custom: your own criterion

  6. If you'd like a short AI summary of each submission, turn on Summary.

  7. Click Save Settings.

Run the screening

  • For existing submissions: in the round's Submissions tab, select the submissions and click the AI Screening icon (or ⋯ More options → AI Screening). For a single submission, use its ⋮ Actions menu.

  • Automatically: turn on Auto-screen upcoming submissions and new submissions are screened as they arrive.

Review the results

Switch the Submissions view selector to AI Screening to see each submission's scores and decision. You stay in control: use Qualify or Disqualify to confirm the decisions you agree with, and take a look at anything marked with your fallback.

Good to know

  • AI usage is billed to your own AI provider account. You can see the tokens used on the AI Integration page.

  • Changing the settings doesn't re-screen submissions that were already screened. To update them, run AI Screening on them again.

  • For a simpler filter without AI, use quiz questions. See Enabling Initial Filtration.
