Managing Survey Submissions

Monitor response counts, review individual entries, and export your data for external analysis.

See who has responded to your survey, review each entry, import responses you collected elsewhere, and export your data for analysis. Here's how to find and manage your survey responses.

I. Open the submissions

  1. Click Surveys in the top bar.

  2. Find your survey in the list and open it (or use the Actions ⋮ menu on its row).

  3. Open the Submissions tab.

II. Monitor and manage responses

  • At a glance: the surveys list shows each survey's Views, Submissions, # Drafts and Conversion %.

  • Submissions and Drafts: in the Submissions tab, switch between completed submissions and drafts that were started but not yet submitted.

  • Answers as columns: each question appears as a column in the table, so you can scan answers quickly.

The submissions toolbar

  • Star: mark entries to follow up on.

  • Add Tag: group submissions so you can filter them.

  • Add Note: add internal notes for your team.

  • Send Message: email respondents.

  • Export: download the selected data as CSV, Excel or PDF.

More actions are under More options (⋯):

  • Mark as Read: keep track of the entries you've reviewed.

  • Select Submission Title: choose which answer (for example "Full Name") names each entry, instead of its ID.

  • Import Submissions: add responses from a file (see below).

  • Remove: remove entries you no longer need.

Tip: use the search box and + More filters to find specific responses. For charts and trends, open the survey's Analytics tab.

III. Import survey submissions

Collected responses on paper or in another tool? You can import them into your survey from an Excel or CSV file.

  1. Open the survey's Submissions tab.

  2. Click More options (⋯) in the toolbar and choose Import Submissions.

  3. In the Submissions Import window, click Export Template to download a file that matches your survey.

  4. Fill in the template, one response per row.

  5. Click Upload File (CSV or XLSX), choose your file and click Upload.

File format requirements:

  • Participant info is optional.

  • Question titles in your file must match the survey form exactly, or those columns will be skipped. Starting from the template is the easiest way to get this right.
