Moving a Submission to Another Track

What to do when a participant applied to the wrong track or category.

Did a participant apply to the wrong track or category? Here are two ways to move their submission to the right one.

Each submission belongs to one track, and editing a submission keeps it in the same track. To move it, use one of the options below.

Move submissions before judging starts. Evaluations, scores and evaluator assignments don't move with a submission that's exported and re-imported into another track. If a submission already has evaluations, export them first and bring them back afterwards (see Option 2).

Option 1: Let the participant change it

Participants can switch their own submission to another track if the round allows it:

  1. Open the round and go to Settings → Submission Settings.

  2. Turn on Allow participants to change tracks. It appears once Enable submission tracks is ticked.

  3. Click Save Settings.

  4. Ask the participant to change the track from their submission. If the round has already closed, first open the submission's ⋮ menu in the Submissions tab and click Enable Editing.

Option 2: Move it yourself with export and import

  1. In the Submissions tab, select the submission and click Export (or ⋯ More options → Export). If it already has evaluations, also tick Export all evaluations and keep the file.

  2. Import the submission into the correct track with Import Submissions (see Adding Submissions as an Admin (Late Entries, Nominations and Imports)).

  3. Check that the new submission appears in the right track, and note its new Submission ID.

  4. If it had evaluations, bring them back with Importing Evaluations. Make sure the evaluators are added to the round first, then copy the scores from your export into the downloaded template using the new Submission ID.

  5. Only then remove the original submission.
